Their philosophy is ‘It’s all about the service…’ and that is why if you had phoned 5 Rings Telecom on Friday 19th June your call would have still been answered within five rings, despite some key members of the team being out on the fairways at Gatton Manor Golf Course in Surrey. Yes, Round Three of the 2015 South Coast Golf Tour played host to the 5 Rings Telecom Company Golf Day and with it came some valuable business building opportunities, some sporting competition and some interesting golfing attire – we really must sort out that best dressed award!
Bob Grace, WPA’s local representative for Portsmouth and surrounding areas, reported that he has developed significant new business contacts following their Client Hospitality Day on the South Coast Golf Tour in 2014. The Tour offers bespoke client hospitality packages for clients looking for a more intimate alternative to a full Company Golf Day. Bob took full advantage of this smaller group option to selectively invite his key clients to an exclusive day of networking on the golf course at Old Thorns Manor Hotel Golf & Country Estate. “Our Client Hospitality Day on the South Coast Golf Tour in 2014 directly led to new business for my company and enhanced client relationships,” says Bob Grace of WPA. “That’s why I have decided to take both a Season Ticket and full Company Golf Day at the Tour Final in 2015 – an opportunity not to be missed.” The team at the South Coast Golf Tour are delighted at the business success reaped by participants on the tour. It was their dream and goal to enable companies to build better business opportunities in one of the most enjoyable ways, out playing the game they love. “Our goal is to help our members build fruitful business relationships and bring in profitable new business, and WPA’s success as a result of their Client Hospitality Day is a real testament to the value of the tour,” says Claire Love, co-director of the South Coast Golf Tour. “To have our well-respected and long-term business contact Bob Grace as the Company Golf Day Sponsor for this year’s main event, the Tour Final and Evening Party on 23rd October, is a real honour. We are looking forward to an amazing event with his colleagues, guests and our regular Tour networkers.” Find out how you could gain valuable business with one of our bespoke client hospitality packages by contacting Claire on 07801 295681 or via email@example.com
April 9th was no ordinary Thursday – it marked the start of the greatly anticipated 5th anniversary year of The South Coast Golf Tour which not only marked the return of invaluable business networking opportunities but also the return of the sunshine. With Ham Manor playing host, players couldn’t wait to get stuck in to this challenging 18 hole parkland course – but not before a bacon butty of course. First on the day’s itinerary came the well-loved annual Charity Putting Competition which is always a great way to break the ice and get the day underway. The quick putting green at Ham Manor made for a satisfying challenge and some close competition. Then, the moment everyone was waiting for, it was time to tee off. With a two tee start, 1st and 10th tees, the teams headed towards the sunshine with the newly introduced VPAR (a real-time leaderboard app) system to hand. This allowed players to keep tabs on the score whilst on the course creating a whole new dynamic to the game. Not only did the addition prove very popular with players and attendees alike, but it allowed everyone to witness the moment Dave Fluke, Tour Director, made his first hole in one in 25 years of playing. This fantastic triumph was a great joy for both Dave and the rest of the players because, as per golf etiquette, Dave was then required to buy a round of drinks. Success! Whilst players enjoyed a delicious dinner it was great to see some new business relationships blossoming after a great day both on and off the course – but the event wasn’t quite over yet, there was still time to celebrate the day’s achievements with the prize-giving ceremony. Find out the event results, individual prize-winners and order of merit points here. With the 2015 Tour now underway, the next event is the Worthing & Ardur Chamber Golf Day at Worthing Golf Club – don’t miss out, secure your ticket now. The Carpenter Box Company Golf Day always serves up some delights, and we’re not just talking about the full English breakfast and the indulgent chocolate tart that were on the menu this year. For the fifth year in a row, Carpenter Box they did not disappoint, cooking up a day full of valuable business relationship building, healthy competition out on the course and a flurry of new players to the tour, including Best Guest prize winner Andrew Steer from HSBC.
A Shotgun StartIt was a shotgun start at East Sussex National Golf Club in Uckfield on the 22nd May with 11 teams teeing off at the same time from different holes around the course. Whilst the weather was kind to us and the course conditions almost perfect, the lakes certainly proved a challenge for many players at this 72 par scenic course, not least for our own Assistant Tour Director, Matt Clifton-Bowley who watched his first shot land straight in the drink. Not even the specially branded Carpenter Box tees could help him this time. The vast number of trees and narrow fairways were no match for Paul Froome from Sussex Transport, who beat the rest at the test securing his First Place Tour Member Prize of a bottle of Lanson Champagne and golf for four at Gatton Manor Golf Club in Surrey – even 2011 Tour Champion Pete Raynsford from 5 Rings Telecom has to settle for runner-up to this man on the day. The main advantage of the shotgun start was that with everyone back in at the same time, players got the chance to connect with people from other teams and expand their business network – and to enjoy a nice cold beverage together at the bar, of course.
The Prize-giving…After a busy day building better business on and off the course, it was time to celebrate some great golfing with Charlie Eve, a partner at Carpenter Box, presenting both team and individual prizes, as well as announcing the winner of the Charity Putting competition for dizzy:supportfordiabetes. Find out all of the results and the order of merit points here. With the 2015 Tour now in full swing, the next event is the 5 Rings Company Golf Day at Gatton Manor – don’t miss out, book your ticket for the 19th June now.
